Europe plans to lift restrictions on liquids in hand luggage

The European Commission has decided to change the volume of liquids allowed in hand luggage, thus abolishing the long-standing rule of a maximum volume of 100 milliliters, ERR News reports.
In the near future, passengers will be allowed to carry up to two liters of liquids in their hand luggage.
Currently, the condition that allows carrying up to 100 milliliters of liquids in one container in hand luggage is still in force. However, on the 24th of July, the EC decided that the permitted volume will be increased to two liters. This means that

travelers will no longer have to pour their cosmetics and other liquids into smaller containers.

The changes will apply to all European Union airports that use 3D scanning equipment for baggage screening. The EC decision still needs to be approved by the European Civil Aviation Conference.
