EU freezes Russian oligarchs’ assets worth EUR 12.5 billion

Thanks to sanctions imposed by the European Union, Russian oligarchs and companies with ties to them have lost assets worth EUR 12.5 billion in Europe, as reported by liga.net with reference to what official representative of the European Commission for Justice Christian Wiegand told DW.
«The amount of frozen assets of Russian oligarchs almost doubled from € 6.7 billion in April to more than € 12.5 billion,» he affirmed.
He added that this rapid rise of frozen assets is related to the assets owned by Russian oligarchs that were uncovered and frozen in EU countries, especially Germany, last week.
The frozen assets include yachts, helicopters, works of art, real estate, etc.
