In Estonia, Tuesday, September 7, is the last day to register candidates for the local government election of this autumn, Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports.
The period for registering candidates began in August and for the first time in the Baltic country it is possible to register online through an election information system. Existing political parties and electoral blocs can submit information on their candidates and it is also possible to participate as an independent candidate.

For the Estonian local government election 2021, advance voting and electronic voting starts on October 11 and the election day will be on October 17.
Any national of Estonia or the European Union from the age of 16 with permanent residency has the right to vote in the upcoming elections. Voter lists will be prepared by the Estonian Interior Ministry from the information in the country’s population register as it will be on September 17.
