French president Emmanuel Marcon was re-elected in his post in the second stage of presidential elections on Sunday, 24 April, with a considerable advantage in votes over his opponent, far right candidate Marine Le Pen.
According to estimates reported to France 2 and TF1 television channels by sociological survey companies, Macron received 57.6 – 58.2% of votes, whereas Le Penn received 41.8% – 42.4%.
