Embassy to ensure delivery of Timma’s remains from Russia to Latvia for burial

Latvian embassy in Russia maintains constant contact with relatives of the recently passed Latvian basketball player Jānis Timma and Russian authorities to ensure his remains are delivered to Latvia, as LETA was told by press-secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diāna Eglīte.
She confirmed the ministry is prepared to ensure all necessary consular aid. Eglīte said it is important to keep in mind that consular aid is direct and individual, so the embassy is not authorised to provide detailed information.
A post from Timma’s friend Gatis Liniņš is on Facebook. The mother of the late Jānis Timma – Ausma Timma – approved of the post.
In it, Liniņš noted that on Sunday the woman is to travel to Moscow and agree on a repatriation flight to deliver her son’s remains to Latvia. However, she does not have the money to afford all that.

In his Facebook post, Liniņš invites readers to donate money to the mother of the basketball player to pay for the delivery and burial of Timma’s remains.
