Covid cases decrease in Latvia and Estonia

In 24 hours to Wednesday, March 9, Latvia registered 7,542 new coronavirus infections, while Estonia confirmed 2,874 and Lithuania registered 6,806.
A total of 7,542 new Covid-19 infection cases were found in Latvia in the last 24 hours to Wednesday morning. 15 people have died in the Baltic country in the period, eight of them were unvaccinated or had not completed their vaccination, while seven were vaccinated.
In Estonia, the latest public data showed that 2,874 new cases were found over the last 24 hours. 592 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment in Estonian hospitals. 2,320 people have died from the disease in Estonia thus far.

The latest data from Lithuania added 6,806 new cases of coronavirus infection. 1,390 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment in Lithuanian hospitals.
The number of deaths caused by the health complications of the coronavirus in Lithuania has reached 8,562 people.
Returning to Latvia, 16,416 Covid-19 tests were performed in the country in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Latvian Disease Prevention and Monitoring Centre (SPKC), which means the percentage of positive tests was 45.9%. A total of 5,369 Covid-19 patients have died in Latvia, while 596,470 people have recovered from the disease.
