The seven-day cumulative infection index per 100 000 residents has increased from 80.4 to 87.2 in the past 24 hours.
Reports of four deaths were received yesterday. One person was in the 40 to 49 years age group, two were in 70 to 79 years age group, and one person was in the 80 to 89 years age group. Three of those people were either non-vaccinated or had not yet completed their vaccination course. One person was vaccinated for Covid-19.
A total of 5 855 Covid-19 infected people have died from the infection in Latvia so far.
SPKC previously explained there may be a discrepancy in data regarding deaths. The reason is because often this information is reported with a delay, as it is first necessary to separate Covid-19 deaths from other causes of death. SPKC primarily receives information about deaths from hospitals and nursing homes.
