A total of 1 072 new Covid-19 infection cases were found in Latvia in the last 24 hours. Three people have died – all of them were unvaccinated.

The number of deaths caused by the coronavirus in Lithuania has reached 8 944 people.
5 220 Covid-19 tests were performed in Latvia in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Disease Prevention and Monitoring Centre (SPKC), which means the percentage of positive tests is 20.5%. 755 308 people have recovered from Covid-19 infection. A total of 5 652 people in Latvia have died from Covid-19 so far.
SPKC reports that the 14-day cumulative infection index per 100 000 residents is 1 176.3.
The National Health Service reports there are currently 633Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in hospitals. For 256 of those people Covid-19 is the main diagnosis, whereas for the rest it is a side-diagnosis.
