Court in Estonia finds three guilty of supporting Russian aggression

On Thursday, 21 July, Harju County Court in Estonia found three men guilty of supporting Russian aggression. One of the men bought drones to support Russian armed forces, as reported by Estonian ERR.
The court sentenced the 43-year-old man named Vladimir to a four-month prison sentence and an eight-month conditional prison sentence. On 11 May 2022 he published an entry on VKontakte social network that he wants to support the Russian army by buying drones for them.
The court concluded that Vladimir intentionally supported the aggression committed by Russia.
«In the appeal, the man asked for money to be transferred to his bank accounts for the purchase of drones.»

«Vladimir brought three drones with the money received as a result of the appeal to support the aggression, which he tried to deliver to the Russian Federation through the Koidula border crossing, but was detained at the border crossing,» the court concluded.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, four months of which must be served immediately. He does not have to the remaining eight months unless he commits another intentional crime in the next four years.
Vladimir must also pay EUR 1 632.60 in procedural costs. The drones were confiscated.
The two other men who sent Vladimir money to purchase the drones were also convicted of aiding Russian military aggression.
Both were handed a suspended sentence, one they will have to serve if the commit an international crime in the next year. They were also handed an eight-month probation period. Both will also have to pay EUR 1 200 procedural costs each.
