Latvian Stevedoring Company Association has signed a cooperation memorandum with a non-commercial organisation Directorate for International Transport Corridors (DITC) created by the Ministry of Transports of the Russian Federation.
By signing the memorandum the two sides have agreed to develop and strengthen mutual professional cooperation, study and analyse modern trends in transit and logistics business, port operations and development of international transport routes.
Additionally, the two sides have agreed to exchange information.
Latvian and Russian representatives outlined the following prime directions in order to implement the goals of the memorandum:
-exchange information about projects in which both sides are participants, including the development of the Pan-European transport corridor and North-South Transport Corridor;
-participation in expert work groups for transit and logistical business development topics, as well as topics related to sea port operations and international transport corridors;
-Latvian and Russian representatives coordinate their participation in other joint projects.
This week Moscow hosts the most important annual transport industry event in Russia – Transport Week 2021. Latvian businessmen are participating in this event under a joint brand – Vialatvija.
