On Friday, the skies will be cloudy, but from the second half of the night they will begin to clear, and during the day the amount of cloud cover will vary, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In some parts of the country, brief periods of rain are expected, and during the night fog may form in certain areas, reducing visibility. A light to moderate west wind will blow, gradually weakening from the second half of the night.
At night, the air temperature will drop to +3…+8°C, but in some places—mainly in Vidzeme—where skies clear, the thermometer may fall to 0°C. During the day, air temperatures will rise to +7…+12°C.
Over the weekend, the influence of the cyclone will weaken, and the sun will be visible more often. On Saturday, some showers are still expected, and in certain areas,
sleet may occur, but by Sunday night, precipitation will cease.
A light wind will prevail, and under its influence fog may form in some areas overnight into Saturday. At night, temperatures will drop to as low as -4°C, though in coastal regions it will be milder, with minimum temperatures ranging from +2…+7°C. During the day, air temperatures will rise to +5…+10°C.
At the beginning of next week, the sun will continue to alternate with clouds, and no significant precipitation is expected. In many areas, nighttime temperatures will fall below zero, while daytime highs will hover around +10°C.
In the second half of the week, precipitation is expected again in many places, and both days and nights will become warmer. By the end of the week, the wind will turn gusty.
