Friday will be mostly cloudy, although skies will clear at times, and no significant precipitation is expected, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
A light to moderate southerly to southeasterly wind will blow, becoming gusty in the evening along the western coast of the Gulf of Riga. Night-time air temperatures are expected to range from −5 to −10°C, dropping to −10 to −15°C in eastern regions and even −15 to −20°C in Latgale. Daytime temperatures will be slightly milder at −3 to −8°C, while in eastern parts of the country they will not rise above −9 to −14°C.
Over the weekend, skies will be partly cloudy. A light to moderate southerly to southeasterly wind will persist. During the day, air temperatures will not rise above −6°C, while
at night temperatures in eastern regions may fall as low as −19°C.
In the first half of next week, as a colder air mass moves in, temperatures in some areas will drop by a few degrees compared to previous days. On Monday and Tuesday nights, severe frost is expected across much of the country, with minimum temperatures reaching −20 to −24°C. Winds will remain light to moderate, and the weather will stay dry, with days passing without significant precipitation.
