On Friday and the weekend the sky will be covered in clouds. Multiple precipitation zones will pass through Latvia, bringing wet snow, rain, and some snow, as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Local visibility will be worsened by fog. Meteorologists remind that under such weather conditions, motorists should be cautious – roads will become slippery in some areas. The wind will blow from the south and south-west and will remain mostly calm. Wind speed along the coast, however, may reach 15-16 m/sec. Air temperature at night will drop to -2° C… +3° C. Daytime air temperature will stay within +1° C… +6° C.
At the beginning of next week the sky will clear up. Nevertheless, precipitation is still expected – mainly in the form of wet snow and rain. The wind will be slow to moderate in speed. Fog is also expected. Relatively warm air mass will remain above Latvia – air temperature at night will stay at mostly 0° C. Daytime air temperature will be positive.
