Over the weekend, clouds will alternate with sunshine, and occasional showers are expected in some areas. On Saturday, wet snow and snow pellets may also occur, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Winds will mostly remain light to moderate from the north, though gusts of up to 15 m/s are expected in some places on Saturday. At night, fog may form in certain regions, reducing visibility. Nights will remain chilly, with temperatures across most of the country dropping to between 0 and +5°C. In some areas, especially where temperatures fall to 0…-2°C, ground frost is expected. During the day, air temperatures will rise to between +8 and +12°C.
On Monday, skies will be partly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain in eastern areas. Winds will be light, ranging from 1–5 m/s. A warmer air mass is forecast to gradually move into the region next week, bringing a rise in temperatures, with daytime highs reaching +10 to +15°C in many places. While early in the week there will be little precipitation, rain clouds are expected to become more frequent later in the week.
