On Friday, the skies will be mostly cloudy, with occasional sunshine in some areas. In the morning, a new area of precipitation will begin moving across Latvia from the southwest, bringing intermittent rain throughout the country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
With light winds, fog will thicken overnight in some regions, reducing visibility. Nighttime air temperatures will drop to between +6°C and +11°C, with slightly warmer conditions along parts of the coast, while daytime temperatures will range from +16°C to +21°C.
The weekend will be quite windy, with scattered rain showers. Rain is expected overnight in most parts of the country, while during the day it will mainly rain in the eastern regions. On Saturday, a light to moderate west and northwest wind will blow, becoming gusty along the coast.
On Sunday, the wind will shift to the southwest and west, reaching speeds of 15–18 m/s in many areas.
At night, temperatures will generally remain between +10°C and +15°C, while during the day, in some places, the mercury may climb slightly above +20°C.
The first half of next week will be drier and sunnier. On Monday, some rain is still expected in the central and eastern parts of the country. A gusty westerly wind will continue to blow across almost all of Latvia, but by midweek it will ease and the weather will become calmer. As skies clear more often, daytime temperatures at the beginning of July will reach between +20°C and +25°C.
