Changeable weather in the coming days – what to expect

On Friday, skies will be overcast, and rain is expected at times across most of the country, with the heaviest precipitation forecast for the night into Friday, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

During the night, the southeast wind will shift to the northwest and west, with gusts along the coast reaching up to 20 m/s during the night and in the first half of the day. Both at night and during daytime hours, fog will form in some areas, significantly reducing visibility. Day and night temperatures will range between +6°C and +11°C.

While on 1 November only occasional light rain is expected in some areas, on Sunday rainfall will cover a much larger part of the country. Fog will form locally during the night and morning, and a light to moderate west and northwest wind will blow, gradually shifting to a southerly direction on Saturday morning.

Night-time temperatures will drop to +3°C to +8°C,

while daytime temperatures will rise to +8°C to +13°C in many places.

In the first half of next week, the influence of an anticyclone will begin to strengthen over Latvia. Monday will still bring wetter weather, but in the following days rainfall will subside and conditions will become relatively dry. Night-time temperatures will not fall below +4°C, while daytime temperatures will stay within +10°C to +12°C.
