British intelligence: Moscow recruits migrants for war in Ukraine

Russian authorities recruit migrants from Central Asia to send to fight in Ukraine, according to the latest report from the British military intelligence.
Russian recruiters have visited “Mosques and immigration offices” to reach out to Central Asian migrants working in Russia.

Immigration office workers that speak Tajik and Uzbek languages constantly try to recruit migrants, the report mentions.

They offer migrants provision of Russian citizenship in the shortest period of time – half a year instead of the usual five year period.

Recruiters also try to get people interested using promises of wealth. Migrants are offered wages worth 3 800 euros with bonus pay of 2 170 euros.

These recruits, according to British military intelligence, will likely be sent to the front lines.
Recruitment efforts in Russia indicate the need for another 400 000 volunteers for the war in Ukraine.
Russian government is trying to hide its new mandatory mobilisation for as long as possible, since the last mobilisation was generally unpopular.
