On 4 October the chairman and the board of Kustība «Par!» political party in Latvia stepped down from their posts. They explained this decision with taking responsibility for results of 14th Saeima elections.
According to the party, board members will continue performing their duties until the extraordinary congress, which will take place 3 December. It is planned for a new board and a new chairman to be elected at this congress. The party also plans to make decisions in regards to its strategy for the next four years.
Until now Daniels Pavļuts was the party’s chairman. The board consisted of Laima Geikina, Mārtiņš Šteins, Uldis Dūmiņš, Uldis Zupa, Dace Bluķe, Pēteris Bethers, Marija Golubeva, Vita Anda Tērauda, Inese Voika, Miks Celmiņš and Pēteris Viņķelis.
According to the party, until a new board has been elected the party will evaluate its operations performed in the past four years, results of the recent 14th Saeima elections,
as well as operations of Attīstībai/Par! union and its future.
The board believes Kustība «Par!» should continue on its public and political path. ‘This requires organisational, financial and reputation resources,’ the party says.
BNN previously reported that Attīstībai/Par! did not receive a sufficient number of votes in the 14th Saeima elections – 4.97%. In the 13th Saeima elections they received 12.04% of votes.
