Baltic States and Poland are prepared to help Ukraine look for new logistical directions in order to provide the war-torn country the ability to export its agricultural products.
Latvia’s Minister of Transport Tālis Linkaits discussed this option with his colleagues from Lithuania, Estonia and Poland during the joint meeting with Ukraine’s Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov and Ukraine’s Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Solskyi on Wednesday, 20 April.
Latvia’s minister said all three of Latvia’s large sea ports and grain terminals located there are prepared to process freight from Ukraine. However, the biggest problem at the moment is carrying freight to Baltic States.
Latvia is prepared to work with Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian colleagues to look for solutions for these challenges, BNN was told by Ministry of Transport.
«The commitment of Ukrainian colleagues and work in this challenging time is nothing short of surprising, and Latvia is prepared to commit all possible resources to support the country’s attempts to export its agricultural products,» said the minister.
