Baltic presidents support the creation of an international tribunal to assess Russia’s responsibility for the war in Ukraine, as confirmed by presidents during their annual meeting on the 19th of December.
During the annual meeting of presidents of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, leaders discussed topics associated with the region’s security, NATO’s future actions in the region, as well as Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and how to continue increasing support for Ukraine.
According to Latvia’s President Egils Levits, Baltic leaders discussed the topic of a possible international tribunal to judge Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
«We have agreed that this tribunal is needed,» he said.
Baltic presidents also discussed Ukraine’s perspectives to become a member of the European Union and NATO. According to Levits, Baltic leaders are confident western countries generally support Ukraine. Baltic States are at the front of this support.
