On Thursday night, steady rain will fall across Latvia’s western and central regions, while by the second half of the day, rain clouds will also reach the eastern parts of the country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Skies will be mostly cloudy, although they may clear at times in the east. During the night in the east and in the early morning in the west, fog will form, reducing visibility. Most of the country will experience light winds, but in Kurzeme, the wind will be light to moderate from the west and southwest. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +7…+12°C, but in the east it will be colder — between -1 and +4°C. The maximum daytime temperature will range from +11 to +16°C, remaining slightly cooler in the east.
Friday will start cloudy, but skies will gradually clear from the west during the day. From midnight onward, another rain zone will move in from the west, bringing intermittent rain across most of the country. Fog is again expected in places, especially in the east, reducing visibility in the night and morning hours. A light to moderate southwesterly and southerly wind will blow, with gusts up to 15 m/s along the coast. By morning, the wind will gradually shift to the west and northwest. Nighttime air temperatures will fall to +7…+12°C, and in the east to +5…+7°C. During the day, it will warm to +10…+15°C, remaining slightly cooler in some eastern areas.
Over the weekend, rain clouds will remain a familiar sight.
On Saturday, light rain is expected in some areas, while Sunday will bring more widespread and heavier rainfall. Winds will become stronger and gustier not only along the coast but also inland. Nighttime temperatures on Saturday will drop to +3…+8°C, slightly warmer near the sea, and daytime highs will reach +11…+15°C.
On Sunday, it will be a few degrees cooler both day and night.
At the beginning of next week, the weather will remain similarly autumnal and rainy, with precipitation expected in many regions. On Monday, the coastal areas will continue to experience strong gusts of wind. Temperatures will gradually decrease — at night, the air will cool to +1…+6°C, slightly milder along the coast, while daytime highs will not exceed +11°C.
