Australia will open its borders to foreign tourists and other visa recipients for first time since March 2020. There is one condition though – the persons going to Australia should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, British public broadcaster BBC reports.
On Monday, February 7, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated: «If you’re double vaccinated, we look forward to welcoming you back». Morrison stressed that the restrictions would be lifted from February 21. Importantly, people entering the country would need to provide proof of vaccination: «That’s the rule. Everyone is expected to abide by it».

Unvaccinated guests to Australia, who have a medical reason for not being vaccinated against Covid-19, would still need to apply for a travel exemption and, if successful, would be required to quarantine at a hotel.
In December 2021, Australia allowed international students and skilled migrants to enter the country as it eased border-crossing restrictions, BBC reports.
