Latvian airline airBaltic unaudited consolidated financial results for the first six months of 2022 indicate the company’s revenue is 270% higher when compared to the same period of 2021.
In the first six months airBaltic’s revenue reached EUR 191.5 million.
airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss explains the increase with a surge in demand for travel.
«Compared to the first six months of 2021, this year there was an increase in the number of passengers carried and the number of flights serviced.»
According to information from Gauss, the company’s net losses in the first half of 2022 reach EUR 59.3 million.
This can be explained with multiple factors, such as the geopolitical situation and Covid-19 pandemic.
«Results of the first six months of the year were affected by several challenges, mainly the war in Ukraine, uncertainty with Covid-19 pandemic and its development, delays with global supplies, increasing fuel prices, etc.,» said Gauss.
In the first six months of 2022, airBaltic carried 1.3 million passengers or 299% more when compared to the same period of 2021.
The number of flights has increased by 117% when compared to 2021, reaching 16 925.
