Weather in Latvia is expected to be proper spring-like this week. However, some nights will be cold and ice will form on rivers. During warm days the ice will thaw. In Daugava River, for example, ice will run on the surface, according to Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
With air temperature changes, water levels at night and day will continue going down in most rivers.
On Monday, 21 March, there will not be many clouds in the sky. Weather will remain dry, With slow wind, western and central parts of Latvia will experience fog in morning and night hours.
Days will be warm and air temperature will reach +8° C… +13° C (+2° C… +7° C).
On Tuesday the sky will be mostly clear. No precipitation is expected. At night and in morning hours, mostly coastal regions, fog will form. Motorists are advised to be cautious because driving conditions will be difficult due to poor visibility.
Wind speed will be slow, and air temperature will drop to -1° C… -6° C at night, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +7° C… +12° C.
In the middle of the week clouds will be volatile. More clouds are expected in eastern territories. Residents there can expect some short-term rain. The wind will slowly draw in from the south-west and west. Night-time air temperature will be at -2° C… +2° C, whereas daytime air temperature will be +3° C… +10° C.
Meteorologists predict in the second half of the week anticyclone activity will gradually drop. Thursday will pass without precipitation and nights will remain chilly. Daytime air temperature will reach +5° C… +12° C. Night-time air temperature will be -1° C… +2° C, whereas daytime air temperature will be at +4° C… +11° C.
