In Ludza Municipality last Saturday, border guards detained a Russian citizen who illegally crossed the state border from the Russian side, the State Police report.
The person was detained in Malnava Parish. To enter Latvia, the individual damaged the permanent border fence.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against him for the intentional illegal crossing of the external state border and for the intentional destruction or damage of another person’s property.
