On Tuesday, the 9th of December, rain is expected at times across most of the country. During the night, fog will form in some eastern areas, reducing visibility, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
A light to moderate south and south-westerly wind will blow, and in some coastal areas nighttime gusts may reach up to 15 m/s. During the day, the wind will gradually shift to the west. Both at night and during the day, temperatures will remain similar – between +4…+8°C, though in the eastern part of the country it will be cooler at night, around +1…+3°C.
On the night to Wednesday, light rain is expected in some places, while during the day a broad precipitation zone will move in from the west, bringing rain to many areas. A light to moderate westerly wind will blow, gradually shifting to the southwest and south in the morning. Overnight temperatures will drop to +3…+6°C, and
during the day the air will warm by a few degrees, reaching +4…+9°C.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy. During the night, rain is expected only in some eastern areas, but during the day intermittent rain is likely across much of Latvia. A moderate to moderately strong south-westerly and westerly wind will blow, with gusts of 15–17 m/s along the Gulf of Riga coast in Kurzeme and Vidzeme. Both day and night temperatures will range from +4…+9°C.
At the end of the week, temperatures will remain similar to recent days, with light frost expected only in some eastern areas on the night to Saturday. Rain will fall across almost the entire country, and towards the end of the week and the beginning of the next, winds will become gusty over a large part of the territory.
