A multi-millionaire criticizing Putin has fallen from a hotel window in India

Russian businessman Pavel Antov, who criticized Vladimir Putin in the summer, fell out of a hotel window during a trip to India, writes Euro Weekly News.
66-year-old multimillionaire Antov went to India to celebrate his birthday but died after falling out of a hotel window. Although the businessman belonged to the pro-Putin United Russia party, in June he criticized Russia’s war in Ukraine. The Consul General of Russia in Calcutta, Alexey Idamkin, announced that Antov fell from the window of the third floor of the hotel and that the accident happened in the state of Odisha. It is reported that Antov was taken to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead there.
Antov rested at the hotel with three other people, and one of them died on the 22nd of December – as reported, the cause of death is a heart attack.

Indian police do not rule out the possibility that Antov could have been depressed after the death of a friend and simply committed suicide.

In June, Antov wrote on social networks about the missile strike in Ukraine: «A girl has been pulled out from under the rubble, the girl’s father appears to have died. The mother is trying to be pulled out with a crane – she is trapped under a slab. To tell the truth, it is extremely difficult to call this anything other than terror.» However, soon Antov retracted what he said and stated that the message was a technical error and a misunderstanding.
Antov is believed to have been forced to delete the published musings, with an apology on his profile afterward. The businessman wrote about his respectful support for Putin’s «special operation» and insisted that he has always supported the president.
