On Friday, 25 November, International green energy company Ignitis Renewables signed a purchase contract for 100% of shares of a company developing a wind turbine park in Lithuania, as confirmed by the company’s public relations representative.
The company plans to invest approximately EUR 300 million into the wind turbine park located in Plungė district north-west of Klaipeda.
The wind turbine park is planned to become operational around 2026-2030.
«With this deal we have expanded our portfolio of project in Lithuania’s market even more. Thanks to our green energy capacity, we are moving towards our group’s main goal – reaching 5 GW of green energy output by 2030,» says Ignitis Renewables manager Thierry Aelens.
Once the project is implemented, Ignitis Group’s green energy portfolio will reach 4.8 GW. 1.2 GW of this energy are in operation and 3.5 GW are under construction or development. Of all the green energy production sites 2.2 GW output facilities are located in Lithuania.
Ignitis Renewables operates in Baltic States and Poland. The company is responsible for the development wind turbine, solar energy, biomass and energy production from waste projects.
