On bus stops in the outskirts of Jerusalem, two explosions killed one and wounded several people, informs Reuters.
Today, the 23rd of November, two explosions happened in Jerusalem. Blasts followed each other within half an hour. Israeli authorities blame Palestinian militants for the attack. The first bomb was placed at the bus stop not far from city border, and the second exploded in the eastern part of Jerusalem.
It is the first of such a coordinated attack in years, and was caused by a powerful device, police spokesman Eli Levi told media. Authorities informed that explosives were hidden in the bags, and one contained nails. That is a method used to maximize the damage. After the first blast, 12 people were taken to hospital, and the second blast wounded three more. One of the victims died in the hospital.
Palestinian militant group Hamas didn’t take the responsibility for the explosions. However, its spokesman praised the bombing and said it is linked with Israelis’ crimes.
Attacks happened at the time when former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to make a new government. He intends to form a right-wing government with members from religious parties.
