In October 2022 inflation in Latvia was higher than the average observed in the European Union and Eurozone, according to data published by Eurostat on Thursday, 17 November.
According to this data, inflation in Latvia was 21.7%. Inflation was higher only in Estonia (22.5%), Lithuania (22.1%) and Hungary (21.9%).
When compared with October of 2021, consumer price rise was observed across all EU member states in October 2022.
The average inflation was 11.5% in the EU and 10.6% in Eurozone.
When compared with September, consumer prices have increased by 1.4% in the EU and 1.5% in Eurozone.
Compared with September, consumer prices in October increased by 0.8% in Latvia. In Lithuania prices increased by 1.3% and in Estonia they went down by 1.6%.
Consumer prices have increased in 22 EU member states over the course of the month. The highest monthly inflation was observed in Italy (+3.8%), whereas deflation was observed in Sweden (-0.2%), Malta (-0.6%), Czech Republic (-1.1%), Greece (-1.2%) and Estonia.
