After passing several EU bills, the Parliament of Hungary will discuss the ratification of Sweden and Finland’s accession to NATO, informs Reuters.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s chief of staff Gergely Gulyas told the media that Finland and Sweden can count on Hungary’s support. «Our aim is that parliament should ratify their application before the end of this year […] we have always said we supported the ratification,» he said.
Orban’s government submitted the bills as early as July, but they still haven’t passed the Parliament. Hungary and Turkey are the only NATO members that haven’t cleared Finland’s and Sweden’s accession to the NATO.
