So far heating has started being supplied to more than half of the buildings managed by Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks LLC (RNP) and connected to central heating, the company reports.
According to RNP, it is planned to continue connecting remaining houses to the system this weekend to ensure heating is supplied to all eligible houses. After connection, stabilisation of the heating system may take a couple of weeks and up to a month in some rare cases.
RNP notes that heating is connected based on long-term weather forecasts.
Connection of heating to houses managed by RNP may take approximately a week.
RNP is technically prepared for the start of the heating season. Most houses connected to the central heating system have been ready since September. The heating season starts off in accordance with a previously developed plan. The plan will be completed by the end of the week.
Because of this reason, RNP invites residents to wait a week before submitting complaints regarding insufficient heating levels. The company stresses – it takes time to complete preparations and stabilise the heating system.
RNP board chairman Ronalds Neimanis reminds that as of 1 September 2022, the company does not apply penalties for late payments.
«As of 1 September 2022 neither RNP nor Rīgas siltums JSC apply penalties for late payments,» he said, adding that clients are nonetheless invited to make payments on time.
RNP reports that it is planned to reduce indoor temperature in buildings managed by the company by one to two degrees (Celsius) to reduce costs by 5-10%, adding that apartment owners can, through a joint vote, request that the company does not reduce air temperature in their homes.
RNP also adds that houses equipped with automatic heating systems that respond to changes in air temperatures outside will have their heating shut off if air temperature reaches +12° C.
This is why residents should not panic if their radiators go cold.
