Housing prices in Q2 2022 in Latvia increased by 16.5% when compared to the same period of 2021. This is more rapid than the average in the European Union and Eurozone, according to data published by Eurostat on Friday, 7 October.
Generally housing prices have increased in all EU member states for which data is available.
The most rapid housing price rise was observed in Estonia (+27.4%), Czech Republic (+23.1%), Hungary (+22.8%) and Lithuania (+22.1%).
The average increase in the April-June period of 2022 in EU member states was 9.9%, whereas in Eurozone it was 9.3%.
Comparison between quarters indicate that housing prices in the EU and Eurozone increased by 2.3% on average in Q2 2022.
In Q2 housing price increase was observed in all EU member states for which data is available. The most rapid increase was observed in Estonia (8%), Lithuania (+5.9%), as well as Latvia and Slovakia (+5.5% in both).
