Latvia’s14th Saeima gradually taking shape

New Unity showed the best results in the recent Saeima elections, receiving 18.97% of votes and 26 mandates, according to results compiled by the Central Elections Commission (CVK).
Seven political parties were elected to the new Saeima – New Unity, Union of Greens and Farmers, Combined List, National Alliance, For Stability!, Latvia in First Place and Progressive Party. Attīstībai/Par! political party failed to overcome the 5% barrier, according to election results published by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia from 1 055 election sites.
New Unity received 18.97% of votes. This means this party will receive 26 mandates in the 14th Saeima, according to data from CVK.
Union of Greens and Farmers received 12.44% of votes, receiving 16 mandates. The Combined List received 11.01% of votes, receiving 15 mandates. The National Alliance received 9.29% of votes, receiving 13 mandates.
For Stability political party received 6.8% of votes, receiving 11 mandates. Latvia in First Place received 6.24% of votes, receiving nine mandates. Progressive Party received 6.16% of votes, receiving ten mandates.
Attīstībai/Par! failed to overcome 5% barrier – the party received 4.97% of votes.
According to available information, the following politicians from New Unity may enter the Saeima: Krišjānis Kariņš, Edgars Rinkēvičs, Andrejs Judins, Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, Irma Kalniņa, Zane Skujiņa, Dāvis Mārtiņš Daugavietis, Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, Uģis Rotbergs, Ainars Latkovskis, Evika Siliņa, Hosams Abu Meri, Andrejs Ceļapīters, Jānis Skrastiņš, Raimonds Čudars, Arvils Ašeradens, Inga Bērziņa, Anda Čakša and others.
Politicians from the Union of Greens and Farmers that may enter the new Saeima include: Gunārs Kūtris, Augusts Brigmanis, Armands Krauze, Juris Jakovins, Didzis Zemmers, Kaspars Melnis, Līga Kozlovska, Valdis Maslovskis, Uldis Augulis, Gundars Daudze, Jānis Vucāns, Viktors Valainis, Andris Bērziņš and others.
Saeima deputy candidates from the Combined List include: Igors Rajevs, Didzis Šmits, Andris Kulbergs, Raimonds Bergmanis, Edvards Smiltēns, Māris Sprindžuks, Māris Kučinskis, Ingmārs Līdaka, Edgars Tavars and others.
Politicians from the National Alliance that may enter the 14th Saeima include Ināra Mūrniece, Rihards Kols, Nauris Puntulis, Raivis Dzintars, Uģis Mitrevics, Jānis Dombrava, Edmunds Teirumnieks, Ilze Indriksone, Jānis Vitenbergs, Edvīns Šnore and others.
Politicians from For Stability that may enter the Saeima include Aleksejs Rosļikovs, Svetlana Čulkova, Nataļja Marčenko-Jodko, Glorija Grevcova, Viktorija Pleškāne, Viktors Pučka and others.
Progressive party’s candidates for a spot in the Saeima include Andris Sprūds, Andris Šuvajevs, Antoņina Ņenaševa, Skaidrīte Ābrama, Kaspars Briškens, Leila Rasima, Edgars Zelderis and others.
Latvia in First Place may delegate the following politicians to work in the parliament: Ainārs and Ričards Šleseri, Mārcis Jencītis, Oļegs Burovs, Vilis Krištopans, Ramona Petraviča.
