Heating energy price in Jurmala to go up 143% in October

From October onward the price of heating energy in Jurmala may increase by 143%, as reported by Jūrmalas siltums LLC.
According to the company, changes to the existing heating tariff are due to the changes of prices of fuel.
Jūrmalas siltums submitted to the Public Utilities Commission its new tariff for heating services.

On 1 October 2022 the company plans to increase the tariff to 225.62 EUR/MWh.

The existing heating energy tariff with VAT was 92.76 EUR/MWh, which means the new tariff will be 143.23% more expensive.
Last year Jūrmalas siltums operated with turnover of EUR 7.593 million and profits of EUR 425 742. The company is 100% owned by Jūrmala City Council.
