Residents in Pierīga will have to deal with intensive road traffic in the direction of the sea and on Liepāja highway on Friday, 26 August, as reported by Latvian State Roads (LVC).
Intensive and increased road traffic is expected in the direction of the sea on Jurmala highway (A10) and Tallinn highway (A1).
Because repairs continue on Ventspils highway (A10), intensive road traffic is expected on Liepāja highway’s (A9) beginning all the way to the turn to Tukums (P98), which is used by many residents to travel to Kurzeme to avoid sections under repairs.
To avoid congestion and spending more time on the road, LVC invites residents to plan their trips outside hours of maximum traffic congestion.
Motorists are invited to avoid doing dangerous manoeuvres and respect road traffic participants.
As previously reported, weather in Latvia is expected to get hot this weekend. This means the heat will affect the roads in poor state. The heat may cause melting of sections of roads under maintenance.
Active repairs continue along 60 sections of state roads in Latvia. Traffic restrictions are in place.
