Latvian citizens collect donations for the purchase of Bayraktar for the Ukraine’s army

With the Russia’s full–scale hostilities and aggression continuing in Ukraine, the citizens of Latvia, with the support of the Ministry of Defence and Ziedot.lv, have decided to donate to the Bayraktar, which they plan to buy from Turkey to give to Ukraine.
The Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish–made, remote–controlled combat unmanned aerial vehicle/drone.
Latvia is not the first country whose citizens have decided to express their support for Ukraine by collecting donations for the purchase of such a combat aircraft.
Similar actions have already taken place in other countries of the world, such as Poland, Lithuania, Norway and Canada.

«By donating to the Latvian bayraktar, we also have the opportunity to show our support for Ukraine in this cruel war and, with Ukrainian hands, to salute the Russian occupiers.»

Says Ralfs Eilands, who is one of the initiators of the campaign.
His Ukrainian friend, who is also a project ambassador, adds, «I am extremely grateful for everything Latvia has already done for Ukraine! We see it and appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.»
«This support is also very necessary for my people. Russian occupiers and Vladimir Putin will not succeed, because the strong Ukrainian army has already proven that it can defend not only Ukraine, but also the civilized, democratic and, most importantly, the free world!»
According to the initiators of the donation campaign, in total, it is needed to collect five million euros for the drone.
