Eight political parties register candidate lists for upcoming Saeima elections

Latvian Central Election Commission (CVK) registered two more candidate lists for 14th Saeima elections on Tuesday, 26 July. These are the combined list from Latvian Green Party, Latvian Association of Regions, Liepaja Party and the list from National Alliance All for Latvia – For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK.
As reported by CVK representative Laura Krastiņa, a total of eight candidate lists have been registered for 14th Saeima elections so far. 16 lists were registered for the 13th Saeima elections.

Submission of candidate lists for 14th Saeima elections will conclude on 2 August. There are several other parties that have announced plans to submit their lists.

In the combined list the candidate number one is Saeima deputy Didzis Šmits (LZP), followed by Edvards Smiltēns (LRA), Edgars Tavars (LZP), Māris Kučinskis (LP) and Juris Viļums (LRA).
Uldis Pīlēns is their chosen prime minister candidate. He has no plans to run in elections as a Saeima deputy candidate, however.
National Alliance’s leading candidate is Uģis Mitrevics, followed by Ilze Indriksone, Ināra Mūrniece, Edvīns Šnore and Edmunds Teirumnieks.
Uģis Mitrevics is also the National Alliance’s chosen prime minister candidate.
The 14th Saeima elections are scheduled for 1 October 2022.
