EUobserver: Europe to impose sanctions against Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin

The European Union prepares to impose sanctions on the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, as well as actors Vladimir Mashkov and Sergei Bezrukov, who support Russia’s war, as reported by EUobserver.
In total, the document EUobserver has access to contains 47 private and eight legal persons.
Bezrukov has publicly voiced support of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, whereas Mashkov stands in favour of recognition of the separatist movement in Donbas, sources in diplomatic circles told the TV channel Nastoyashee vremya.
Sobyanin in particular is considered an associate of [President of Russia Vladimir] Putin.

Sanctions will also extend to Moscow-based pro-Kremlin biker club Night wolves, its leader Aleksandr Zaldostanov and three of his associates.

One of his associates is Slovak citizen Jozef Hambalek, who is the president’s of the club’s European branch. Slovakia will have to freeze his finances. He will also be banned to enter other EU member states.
Other people to be put under sanctions mostly consist of Russian army commanders and politicians, as well as Ukrainian working for Russian occupation rule in Ukraine.
Reuters reports that restrictions will be imposed on Russian Sberbank.
On 18 July EU foreign affairs ministers coordinated a new packages of sanctions, extending them to gold and dual use goods, state procurement operations, deposits, accountancy services and audits.
