Positivus festival is set to start very soon. On 15th and 16th of July it will be gathering thousands of people, who will be there enjoying grandiose concerts at a brand new location – Riga, Lucavsala.
To avoid creating unnecessary inconveniences for festival-goers, organisers together with State Police and Riga municipal police, as well Riga City Council have prepared practical recommendations and rules for people to follow while at the festival.
This year Positivus festival will be taking place in D portion of Lucavsala, and the easiest way to reach it is:
Using public transport services:
4th and 19th trolleybus stop Lucavsala is 5-minute walk away from the festival’s location;
10th bus, 4th trolleybus and 19th trolleybus stop Mūkusala roundabout is 15-minute walk away from the festival’s location;
7th tramway stop Elijas Street is 25-minute walk away from the festival’s location;
10th tramway stop Viesītes Street is 25-minute walk away from the festival’s location;
27th trolleybus, 10th and 26th bus stop Laivu Street is 30-minute walk away from the festival’s location.
Using bicycles, as the festival has organised parking locations for them at Neste mobility point. Use of electric scooters will be strictly regulated. Violations of rules will be punished by the police.

Festival-goers can also walk to the festival.
Useful information for motorists
Road traffic will be limited only minimally for the duration of the festival – restrictions will only extend to entry roads leading to Lucavsala.
No special parking spots will be provided at the festival!
No vehicles will be allowed entry to festival grounds. Residents who own property in Lucavsala will be able to drive to and from their property with special permits (information provided by Riga City Neighborhood Population Centre).
Parking in the area of Lucavsala will be very limited and strictly controlled by Road Police.
Stopping to let passengers out in the area will not be permitted, and Road Police will monitor the situation.
K Senukai customers will have access to the parking next to the store. However, cars will not be allowed to stay for longer than one hour.
Rules for festival-goers
After 22:00 youngsters under the age of 16 (included) are not allowed to stay on festival grounds without parental supervision!
Festival-goers will be subjected to personal ID and item checks.
Organisers of the festival have the right to refuse entry or expel from the festival’s territory festival-goers whose behaviour may interfere with the festival or put at risk other people’s safety.
Lucavsala’s beach will be closed off for the duration of the festival.
Within the festival’s territory it is:
prohibited to bring all kinds of beverages and meals (regardless of packaging and containers);
prohibited to bring professional photo and video recording equipment (with detachable lenses), selfie sticks, GoPro cameras, etc;
prohibited to bring all kinds of firearms and self-defence weapons;
prohibited to bring and use all kinds of narcotics;
prohibited to bring animals;
prohibited to bring umbrellas;
and prohibited to bring other items listed in the festival’s rules found www.postivusfestival.com.
Festival’s tent camp
Although this year the tent camp will be very limited this year and will not be allowed to exceed 2 000 people, there are still many rules festival-goers will need to follow to make sure the stay is safe for all of them.
Rules for the festival’s tent camp
After 22:00 festival-goers 16 years or younger are not allowed to stay within the festival’s tent camp without parental supervision.
Within the tent camp’s territory it is:
prohibited to use open flame (light candles, grills, oil lamps, torches, etc.);
prohibited to use sound enhancing devices, including portable loud speakers, between 02:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m.;
prohibited to bring and consume alcoholic beverages;
bring and use narcotic substances;
prohibited to behave in a way that puts other people’s safety at risk;
prohibited to bring in any forms of transports except campers with a valid camper ticket;
prohibited to damage other festival-goers’ property.

Other practical pieces of advice
To avoid crowds within the festival’s territory, festival-goers can exchange their Positivus’22 two-day tickets for a wrist band at Galerija Centrs, 3rd floor between 13th and 15th July. Holders of one-day tickets will be able to exchange tickets for wrist bands at the festival.
Al tickets purchased for Positivus 2022 festival will be valid for this year’s festival – no ticket exchange is needed.
Before going to the festival, residents are advised to look up the weather forecast and plan their visit accordingly. As a reminder: it is prohibited to carry umbrellas to the festival grounds.
Because of loud music and expected crowds, it is not advised to bring small children. If festival-goers do come carrying small children, it is a good idea to give them a note with necessary contact details – name, surname and parents’ phone number. A reminder: after 22:00 all children 16 years or younger must be with their parents.
