The last days of June in Latvia will be especially hot – at the start of the week air temperature will reach up to +33° C, according to Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Along with heat some areas can expect showers and thunderstorms. At night air temperature will not drop below +17° C… +22° C. Air temperature will be slightly lower along the coast.
On Monday, 27 June, the sky will be partially cloudy. Because weather in Latvia will be dictated by an anticyclone with its centre above Belarus, no precipitation is expected. Daytime air temperature will reach +28° C… +33° C (+24° C… +28° C along the coast).
On Tuesday the amount of clouds will be volatile. With anticyclone activity going down, some areas, particularly eastern territories, will experience showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Wind speed will remain low. Air temperature at night will drop to +17° C… +22° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +28° C… +33° C (+23° C… +27° C).
On Wednesday weather will be partially cloudy.
Precipitation and even thunderstorms are expected locally at night and at times during the day.
The wind will blow from the east and will remain slow. Minimal air temperature is expected at +18° C… +21° C. Maximum daytime air temperature will be slightly lower when compared to previous days: +24° C… +29° C in most of the country.
The last day of June and the first day of July will also feature small volumes of clouds and mostly sunny weather. On the night to Thursday eastern parts will experience some rain. No major precipitation is expected for Friday.
At night air temperature will drop to +18° C… +21° C, whereas during the day maximum air temperature will reach mostly +26° C… +30° C.
Current weather forecasts suggest that next weekend most of the country will experience dry weather with moments of rain.
