These past two weeks Ukraine has been losing up to 1 000 troops daily to injuries and death, as Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada representative Davyd Arakhamia reported during this visit to Washington.
According to him, every day Ukraine loses 200 to 500 troops in Donbas, even more people receive injuries. Arakhamia also stresses that the number of losses has significantly increased in the past two weeks, as reported by liga.net.
«Ukraine needs arms and munitions to oppose Russia in one of the biggest battles of the 21st century.
We have people trained to attack, but they lack arms,» said the politician.
He reported that Ukraine has drafted a million people to join the army and there are two million more possible to bring in to provide reinforcements in Donbas.

He also said that in spite of negotiations with Russia having been put on hold, he and Ukraine’s delegation still frequently contact Russia’s representatives at least every one or two weeks. However, both sides understand now is not the time for negotiations. «Our positions in negotiations is quite weak because we don’t want to sit at the negotiation table in our current state and lost territories,» said the politician.
