Members of Russian State Duma consider withdrawal of recognition of independence of Baltic States and Ukraine

Russia may withdraw its recognition of independence of Ukraine and Baltic States, said member of Russian State Duma Yevgeniy Fedorov on Tuesday, 14 June.
«In the future Russia may withdraw is recognition of independence of Baltic States and Ukraine,» as Fedorov’s words spoken to Kremlin-controlled RIA Novosti are cited by Policy dorzeczy.pl.
Fedorov, who represents the ruling party United Russia, had previously submitted a legislative proposal to the State Duma on recalling recognition of Lithuania’s independence.
This legislative proposal suggests recognition of Lithuania’s independence was «unlawful» and against the Constitution of USSR.
Fedorov told RIA Novosti that «Lithuania is the most dangerous to Russia, considering the situation in Kaliningrad Oblast and [Russia’s] confrontation with NATO and US».

«However, this doe not mean we’ll stop at Lithuania,» said the deputy whose opinions are considered odious even in Russia.

He also said Ukraine «left USSR illegally».
Fedorov also said withdrawal of recognition of independence of Baltic States and Ukraine would «prevent threats coming from these post-Soviet countries».
