Centre Party that a way out of the political situation is either to form a new coalition or to call a snap parliamentary election. With a coalition without Kallas’ Reform Party being likely, the head of government has signalled favouring the second option, Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports.
In a press conference on Thursday, June 6, the liberal politician noted that a coalition between the Centre Party, Isamaa and the Conservative People’s Party (EKRE) would need a vote of no confidence in her that would give Reform grounds to request the snap election.

«The Constitution does provide the possibility. However, the decision is up to the President at the end of the day. The government would be within its rights to propose it and it would be peculiar not to seize the opportunity,» Kallas explained responding to ERR’s questions.
The head of government noted that the ratings would favour Reform Party in the election. Estonian Minister of Rural Affairs Urmas Kruuse (also from Reform Party) evaluate that added that extraordinary elections would help clear the air in the parliament, ERR reports.
