War-torn Ukraine visited by Baltic foreign ministers to expand support

The three Baltic foreign ministers were on a joint visit to Ukraine on Friday, May 6, to discuss expanding Baltic and EU support to the country at war with Russia, Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports.
The top diplomats of the three countries were on an unannounced trip to the country where they were shown around areas that had seen fierce warfare. Estonian Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets stated that the visit expressed «unwavering support to the people of Ukraine & discuss more ways we can help Ukraine who is fighting for its freedom & sovereignty, but also for the democratic values».

Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs added that the trio were in Ukraine to complete their interrupted visit making a reference to the visit of February 23.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis pointed out that «rebuilding, restoration, and the EU candidate status» would be discussed during the visit to the Ukrainian capital. «Blooming Kyiv reminds [us] that the country is ready for a bright future,» Landsbergis noted, ERR reports.
