Day 61 of war in Ukraine: Two months into war, US offers USD 332 mln military aid, video from Azovstal civil bunker

On Monday, April 25, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported of a Russian attack on Popasana in Donbas. US government officials offered in a visit to Kyiv over USD 332 million in military aid, while situation for surrounded women and children in Mariupol remained grim as evidenced by a video filmed by the Azov Regiment, Ukrainian public broadcaster Ukrinform, British public broadcaster BBC and Belarusian Nexta TV report.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff wrote in its report of the military situation in Ukraine in the past 24 hours to the morning of Monday, the invaders continued to conduct offensive operations within the Donbas region in order to defeat the Ukraine Joint Forces Operation group. Russian aims remained full control over Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region and ensure a land route between these territories and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

In the northern Dobas Izium-Barvinkove and Izium-Sloviansk directions, the invaders attempted to conduct storming operations but failed. Russian troops were shelling such settlements as Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopillia and Nova Dmytrivka.
In the south-eastern Donetsk and Tavriiskyi directions, the invaders launched artillery strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces. In Mariupol, Russian troops launched missile and air strikes on the Azovstal plant. Russian invaders are conducting storming operations near Popasna.
In the south, Southern Bug direction, Russian troops opened fire on the positions of Ukrainian forces near Kniazivka and Mykolaivka.
Kyiv did not report on Ukrainian losses in battle. It announced the latest loses of the Joint Forces Operation group has successfully repelled seven enemy attacks, destroying 13 tanks, three artillery systems, 17 armoured vehicles, four armoured fighting vehicles, three Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.

US pledges more military aid
On the grim two-month anniversary the Russian invasion into Ukraine U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv.
