Day 42 of war in Ukraine: Reports of new crimes in places left by invaders, Ukraine will have additional weapon supplies

From Ukraine, on Wednesday, April 6, there are reports of more crimes in settlements left buy to Russian occupation troops. The US have announced additional funding to for more weapons to reach Ukrainian troops as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed the UN Security Council of alleged Russian troop crimes in Ukraine, Ukrainian public broadcaster Ukrinform and British broadcaster BBC report.
In the village of Hostomel, Kyiv Region, which was for 35 days under occupation by Russian troops, the head of the Hostomel village military administration, Taras Dumenko, has said to Hromadske Radio more than 400 people have gone missing.
«Throughout 35 days of occupation, we have more than 400 missing. We are checking the basements of Hostomel together with the State Emergency Service and patrol police officers. We have about 1,200 residents, with whom the contact has been established and who inform us about the whereabouts of certain people who have left,» the village elder said.
Dumenko added that Russian troops in Hostomel killed village head Yuriy Prylypko, together with volunteers Ruslan Karpenko and Ivan Zoria, whose bodies were found.
«Not many bodies have been found in Hostomel, but shot bodies, killed residents were found further in the villages of our community. Several residents of our community were also found in Bucha. It necessary to understood that the occupiers removed people. It has been confirmed that people from Hlibivka came to Hostomel and then the contact with them was lost. But we need to understand that the occupiers also covered the traces of their crimes,» Dumenko noted.

Arms supplies
European countries continued to supply arms to Ukraine, mostly light anti-tank weapons. The US announced that its government was allocating another USD 100 million (EUR 92 million) tranche of security and defense assistance for Ukraine, which will provide new supplies of weapons to combat enemy armored vehicles.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated: «The world has been shocked and appalled by the atrocities committed by Russia’s forces in Bucha and across Ukraine. Ukraine’s forces bravely continue to defend their country and their freedom, and the United States, along with our Allies and partners, stand steadfast in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.»
The US top diplomat pointed to the immediate allocation of security assistance valued at up to USD 100 million «to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine in additional systems against armored vehicles.»
In total, the US security aid to Ukraine reached USD 2.4 billion (EUR 2.2 billion) since the beginning of the Biden administration, including more than USD 1.7 billion (EUR 1.56 billion) since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
