In Ukraine, in the morning of Tuesday, March 15, firefighters in the capital Kyiv rushed to put out fires caused by shelling in high-rise apartment blocks. A US defence official has spoken of Russian advances being stalled in most directions of the military invasion, Ukrainian public broadcaster Ukrinform, British public broadcaster BBC report and The Hill news portal report.
As Russian occupation forces continued to bombard and shell populated areas in Ukraine in the night to Tuesday, in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district, fire-fighters put out a fire in a high-rise building after the site was shelled by Russian invaders.
The Ukrainian State Emergency Service announced that at 06:46 the fire was localized, and at 06:51 it was extinguished. One person was rescued from the fire and taken to a local hospital showing that people still live in the war zone despite the Russian troops targeting civilian infrastructure.

A senior US defence official was quoted by The Hill as evaluating on Monday, March 14, that «almost all of Russia’s advances remain stalled» on the ground in Ukraine, with forces moving toward Kyiv showing no «appreciable change in their progress over the weekend».
As to the defensive activity of Ukrainian Armed Forces the US official said to reporters that Ukrainians «have effectively struck at the Russian logistics and sustainment capabilities».
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about a victory in the war expected in Kyiv and addressed Russian soldiers, after saying they contributed to supplying Ukrainian army with military equipment, when fleeing on foot from battle.
