US warns about Russia planning chemical attack in Ukraine

Russia could be preparing for an attack using a chemical or biological weapon in Ukraine, the US government has said as quoted by the BBC.
The fears of Russia planning such an operation with these types of weapons, which are banned in the world in both civilian and military situations, came after the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said Russia had recently found documents show that components of biological weapons were made in Ukraine’s laboratories, with funding from the US Department of Defence.

The US has dismissed the claims, saying it was the «kind of disinformation operation we’ve seen repeatedly from the Russians over the years in Ukraine and in other countries».
BBC reports that White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki noted: «We should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them – it’s a clear pattern.»
Russia is notorious for being involved in the use of banned chemical weapons against its opposition politicians and citizens of other countries in Europe over the past decade.
