Baltic virus cases increase on Tuesday

In 24 hours to Tuesday, February 22, Latvia registered 11,837 new coronavirus infections, while Estonia registered 5,267 and Lithuania confirmed 6,812, which showed increase in all three Baltic states that is characteristic to Tuesday data as on Mondays considerably more tests are made than on Sunday.
A total of 11,837 new Covid-19 infection cases were found in Latvia in the last 24 hours to Tuesday morning. 17 people have died in the Baltic country, ten of them were unvaccinated or had not completed their vaccination course and seven were vaccinated.
In Estonia, the latest public data showed that 5,267 new cases were found in Estonia over the last 24 hours. 624 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment in Estonian hospitals. 2,181 people have died from the virus in Estonia thus far.

The latest data from Lithuania added 6,812 new cases of coronavirus infection. 1,865 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment in Lithuanian hospitals.
The number of deaths caused by the health complications of the coronavirus in Lithuania has reached 8,293 people.
Returning to Latvia, 23,803 Covid-19 tests were performed in the country in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Latvian Disease Prevention and Monitoring Centre (SPKC), which means the percentage of positive tests was 49,7%. A total of 5,130 Covid-19 patients have died in Latvia, while 448,791 people have recovered from the disease.
